My long weekend report is a week late. Sorry! I’ve been busy with work and other things. Anyway, I’ve started my ABC Daily Journal! Although I don’t intend to use mine daily, I’ll attempt to do it weekly. So, to make a report (for me) – I think my long week~~end~~ was a productive one! Let my photos show you:

The long weekend

Hi. Sorry for not updating these past two weeks. I’ve been busy with life lately. HAHA. We went to Manila FAME last week, but unfortunately photos are not allowed inside so I don’t have anything to blog about there. But it is a must attend event if you are interested in Philippine designs of furniture, home decors, and fashion. Support local!

It’s going to be a long weekend now because of All Saints’ Day here in the Philippines. Hopefully I’ll get to edit photos for this blog. Maybe, hopefully, I’ll create some new art over the weekend. ♥ I also bought the The ABCs of Journaling & the Daily Journal from Abbey Sy. The small things that I’ve collected from way, waaaaaay back will now have a purpose. I’m excited to start my journal! (More content for this blog too!)

Speaking of which, the Instagram widget is finally fixed! Hooray!

Just Add Water 2

(First of all, I’m sorry I’m not good at events blogging. HAHA.)

Last week was the Just Add Water 2 event organized by the members of WatercoloristsPH! It was held at The Podium mall Atrium. There were art stores, artists selling their wares, and art workshops. Last year’s Just Add Water event was so much fun that I wanted my artist friends to experience it too. So I invited Hannah and Hasay to the event. Hasay invited her friend Yuki as well.♥

We found out that our block mate from college is one of the food merchants . She owns Agueda, a dessert shop selling brigadeiros. For the event, she also sold sugar cookies which you can paint on and eat after.

This was a hit with the kids there. It was a fun experience! We’ll do better next time. After the sugar cookie painting session, we wanted to paint our Artist Trading Cards but there were no seats left. So we decided to do our Art Tambay / painting session at Craft. Thank you, Craft, for the delicious drinks.

I had a lot of fun. I got to do an Art Tambay at a coffee shop with new and old friends, painting and talking about our similar interests. Really grateful. I wish for more days like this. ♥ Hopefully somewhere up north next time?

August – September 2016 Portraits

I’ve been pretty silent last September. (Only 3 posts ehmeged I’M SORRY). I’m still doing art but I haven’t compiled them yet until now. A lot of people left our office recently, and a lot more to come I think. I made portraits for them as farewell gifts, good luck gifts for their board exams, and some birthday gifts as well. My art doesn’t exactly look like them but I hope they like it. ♥ Here’s the compilation from August to September:

Art Tambay

I had an art tambay with Jean & Hasay at Greenbelt last week. We’ve been planning this for MONTHS!

At St. Marc Cafe

I met Jean through instagram. We first met at a cafe in Maginhawa, and ever since then, we meet at watercolor events organized by the local watercolor group. She’s a very down to earth person, passionate with her craft, and always willing to share her art materials with me lol.

I just wanted to share how CUTE the petito is. It’s 99php per pack.

As for Hasay, we’ve been friends since 2002/2003! But this is the first time that we actually bonded. (At first I was saying that it was our first time to meet & talk, but I was wrong! We actually met before HUHUHU I’M SORRY.)

Edit May 2017: Menu drastically changed. No more sushiritto & other offerings shown in zomato. I don’t know if its still worth it.

A lot of restaurants have been popping up at Maginhawa recently. We were shocked to see that there are a lot of buildings now that seemed to have sprouted like mushrooms. We tried out Westwood, at the building in front of Friuli & Crazy Katsu.

We decided to eat here due to these reasons : curiosity, interior, and the food photos from their outside menu board.

What about the taste? I liked their sushiritto together with the wasabi or sesame mayo. Inggo likes their icecream. We’ll come back to try their other offerings.

Serenitea with Hannah

Back then when I was still in college, I had a blockmate who had the same hobbies as me. We both love Japanese anime, music, drinks, and drawing. So we bonded over that. We were also sort of neighbors (within 20 mins of each other) so we had no problems meeting up even if its impromptu. 90% of the time, we meet at Serenitea Banawe:

This Serenitea branch already had 3 renovations I think. We were already patrons of Serenitea wayyy back at their N. Roxas – Banawe branch! When you think of it, 7 years!? Emeged. We didn’t do plates or our thesis here as I recall. We did however, met here during our practicum meetings prior to our last college plate, our review sessions for the board exam after college, and during our every other month catch up as licensed interior designers or just our art tambays. What I would like to say is that – this branch holds a special place in my heart ♥. HAHA. REALLY!

Anyway, I met up with Hannah 2 weeks back for our drawing session. I brought out my Prang watercolor set and some Canson Montval sheets I got from my SG trip.

This is my Escoda Reserva brush. I’m not sure if its supposed to look like that but I don’t like it. Will try to get it replaced ASAP. This is expensive!

I wish for more days like this.

Winsor & Newton Cotman

After months of deciding, I finally bought my own Winsor & Newton Cotman set!

Ta daaaaa ♥

Since I can’t afford the 45 set yet, this will do. I ordered mine from The Opinionated Store. It was my first online purchase from a local art supply store. It was hassle free! I just messaged my order on their Facebook page, selected the method of payment (Online bank) and delivery (LBC), and I got it the next day ♥.

The colors included are: Lemon Yellow Hue, Cadmium Yellow Hue, Cadmium Red Pale Hue, Alizarin Crimson Hue, Ultramarine, Intense blue or Pthalo Blue, Viridian, Sap Green, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, and Chinese White.

Lia’s Cakes in Season

We went to Ortigas last week to eat at Ippudo. After that, we walked from Megamall to Kapitolyo to try out Lia’s Cakes in Season. We tried out their Avocado Cheesecake, Calamansi Cake, & Strawberry shortcake. Their avocado cheesecake is the best!!!
